Mel and Joe's Wedding at Tortworth Court

TORTWORTH COURT / / GLOUCESTER

Tortworth Court is one of those places that looks impressive straight away, but it never feels over the top. The gardens, the old stone buildings, the drive in — it’s got that classic feel without being stiff.

This one felt special from the start because loads of the guests had flown in from Taiwan. You could feel how much it meant to everyone. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was people seeing each other again after a long time. There were so many proper hugs and moments before the ceremony had even started.

Everything took place in the orangery, which honestly looked unreal. The light coming through the glass, the greenery around it, everyone all together in one space — it just worked. Having the ceremony and reception in the same place made the whole day feel smooth. No moving around, no big reset. It just flowed.

We kept portraits simple around the grounds. Nothing staged, nothing dragged out. A quick wander, a few quiet moments, then straight back to everyone else. That’s always the best way to do it.
By the evening, the energy had properly lifted. When people have travelled that far to be there, they make the most of it. And that’s exactly what happened.

Have a scroll through and you’ll see what I mean.
